Who We Are
SBS (€we€, €us€, €our€) is based in Dublin, Ireland. We are the data controller for personal data collected via our websites, social channels, and sales processes.
For any privacy-specific requests, please contact us at [email protected]. For general inquiries, you can reach us via Instagram or Snapchat.
What We Collect
We collect the following types of data to provide our services:
- Identity & Contact Data: Your name, email address, phone number, and social media handles (e.g., Instagram/Snapchat).
- Delivery Data: Your shipping address for order fulfillment.
- Order & Payment Data: Your order history and payment method metadata. Payments are processed securely by third-party providers like Revolut, your bank, or crypto wallets. We do not store your full credit card or bank account numbers.
- Communications Data: Messages, inquiries, and support interactions (including chat transcripts), with timestamps.
- Device & Usage Data: We use essential cookies for core site functionality (like the shopping cart). We do not currently use non-essential analytics or tracking cookies.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Why We Use Your Data (Lawful Bases)
We process your data based on the following legal grounds under GDPR:
- To Fulfill a Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): Processing your orders, handling deliveries, and providing customer support.
- With Your Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): Sending marketing messages via social media DMs or using non-essential cookies (if we introduce them in the future). You can withdraw your consent at any time.
- For Our Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): Ensuring website security, preventing fraud, improving our services, and maintaining records of transactions.
- To Comply with a Legal Obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): Keeping records for tax, audit, and consumer law purposes.
Marketing Communications
We primarily showcase new products and updates via public posts on our social media channels (Instagram, Snapchat). We do not currently send direct marketing messages via DM, email, or SMS.
If you submit items to sell to us, we may contact you regarding your specific submission if you check the consent box on the sell form.
Cookies & Analytics
Our website uses the following tracking technologies:
- Essential Storage: We use browser localStorage and sessionStorage to maintain your shopping cart, user login sessions, and site functionality. This data stays on your device.
- Internal Analytics: We track page views, search queries, and shopping behavior using our own analytics system (stored in our database, not shared with third parties). This helps us understand what products customers are interested in.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics: We use Cloudflare's privacy-friendly analytics on some pages to understand site performance. Cloudflare's analytics are GDPR-compliant and do not use cookies or track personal data across sites.
We do not use: Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising cookies, or any third-party marketing trackers.
Customer Support Chat
When you are logged in to your SBS account you can reach us through the in-account support chat (including the floating widget and the full-page support chat). We only enable chat for verified, active accounts.
- Messages are delivered in real-time using secure WebSocket connections hosted by Cloudflare and stored in our database alongside your account.
- Conversation metadata (for example timestamps and read receipts) is stored so our team can follow up on your requests.
- Only authorised SBS staff can access customer chat histories, and we use them solely to provide support and maintain service records.
- We do not share chat transcripts with third parties, and we do not use them for marketing.
If you would like us to remove a chat conversation, contact [email protected] and we will delete it unless we must retain it for legal reasons (for example, to resolve a dispute).
Children's Data
Our services are intended for individuals aged 16 and over, which is the digital age of consent in Ireland. We do not knowingly collect or process data from users under 16 without verifiable parental consent.
Sharing Your Data
We share data with trusted providers only when necessary to run our business:
- Payment Providers: Your bank, Revolut, or cryptocurrency exchanges to process payments securely.
- Shipping Providers: An Post, to print shipping labels and provide tracking.
- Communications & Hosting Platforms: The platforms you use to contact us (Instagram, Snapchat) and our infrastructure providers (e.g., Cloudflare Pages for website hosting).
International Data Transfers
When data is transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA), for example to service providers based in the US, we ensure it is protected by using approved legal safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary. Order and invoice data is kept to meet legal and tax requirements (typically 6-7 years). Customer support communications, including chat transcripts, are kept with your account so we can reference previous conversations and are deleted when you ask us to erase them or when we no longer need them to provide support.
Your Rights Under GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Rectify any inaccurate data we hold.
- Erase your data (the "right to be forgotten").
- Restrict or object to the processing of your data.
